White Shirt project from college in 2007

This is a shirt I made in 2006-2007 for a project given by my tutor whilst studying Fashion and Clothing at Green Lane, it took me ages to complete and it really stressed me out but the hard work paid off and I was pleased with the end result.

MINOR PROJECT

Here are my CAD designs for my minor project, my finals consist of two collections a boys pyjama collection aimed at boys aged 4-8 and a girls pyjama collection aimed at teenage girls. I have tried many different images and played around with the colours and I am happy with the outcome, here are some photographs :)

Yikes!

Finally back at uni after my ordeal lol- my operation to get my gall bladder removed resulted in me being rushed back into hospital the saturday after my operation to find out that bile was leaking from where i had my gall bladder removed, i had a water infection, a chest infection and a throat infection , i couldnt walk or eat anything for a week, and had to be put on oxygen on the Sunday because my lungs were not taking in enough oxygen- bad times all in all i had to have 3 operations to sort out the damage and i have to go back in 6 weeks for another endoscopy-glad im on the mend though and i am glad i have been given an extension to deadline!

Operation

Had my operation to have my gall bladder removed on 7th October 2009 just laid up in bed recovering trying to write some more of my dissertation, must say i am really achey and sore right now but glad its over i was so scared x

Vivienne Westwood

Inspiration to me, yeah shes a bit kooky, but she is unique and quirky and so are her designs, she is really inspiring me in my current minor project at the moment.

Sabrina Ward Harrison

She inspires me so much i love her work and the way that she puts her sketchbooks together, i love her page collaborations and her layering and things.

Relieved

I was relieved to find out that my tutor actually like my minor project for a change lol, I actually enjoy doing this project, my concept that I have chosen is really interesting and I can draw lots from this concept :D.

Minor Project

At this moment in time my mind is boggled with my minor project, everyone is stressing out because they havent done much drawing myself included and i really need to get a move on as im off from the 7th until the 20th because i have to go into hospital, so i need to get as much work done as possible, right now i am trying my best to follow my weekly planner and scheme of work but everything is going on at the same time, im panicking about my operation, got my dissertation to carry on with and i have to apply to PGCE uni's before the 1st of December which is the bloody minor project deadline...just great lol!

Dissertation

At the moment i am juggling my minor project and my dissertation, after researching into many different sources, documentaries, magazines and websites, i have managed to write just over 2700 words of my 5000 word dissertation on size zero, and thats not including my introduction, i have tried to manage my time appropriately between my minor project and my dissertation and i am pleased to have gotten so many words of my dissertation written, i feel this year that i am going to manage my time better and make sure i finish everything for when it is needed to be finished, especially my professional studies which i had problems finishing last year as i left everything to the last minute, i feel however that this year it is time to get everything in order especially if i plan to do my PGCE next year and i feel i have made a good start especially starting this blog as part of my professional studies.

About me

My name is Nicola Thomas and I am currently at Cleveland College of Art and Design studying BA (Hons) Textiles and Surface Design, I am in my final year and at the moment I am doing my minor project which I have chosen to base on travel, for this i intend to make fashion samples and garment shapes for children aged 6-10.
